Optional Post-Conference Tours

Half-Day Tours – Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Immediately following the conference closing luncheon, participants and their companions are offered the opportunity to see some of the highlights in and around Saskatoon. Tours depart the Hilton Garden Inn at 1:15PM and will return back to the hotel by 4:30PM.

There are two optional half-day tours:

Half-Day #1: Science City

 

Half-Day #2: Ag in the City


Guides will provide information during the tour and afternoon refreshments are included.
The cost for either of these half-day tours is $50 per person.

“Fields of Fiber” Post Conference Tour – Thursday, July 24, 2008

This full-day tour offers conference participants and their guests the opportunity to experience why Saskatchewan is known as "the Land of Living Skies." The tour includes a drive through the heart of the Prairies and a visit to the Craik Sustainable Living Project Eco-Centre located on the edge of the scenic Arm River Valley, a facility featuring innovative and energy efficient building design and integrated heating, cooling, and electrical systems. We'll stop for lunch in friendly Craik and learn about the construction of a new hemp processing facility in this community. Participants will then get to visit with an outstanding Saskatchewan farm family near Chamberlain. This stop includes a tour of a farmsite, special crop processing facility, and a walk among some of the vast flax fields of central Saskatchewan, before stopping for refreshments and returning back to Saskatoon.


The tour includes informative guides and luncheon and afternoon refreshments will be provided. The cost for this full-day tour is $100 per person.
